States Sue Over Net Neutrality

posted by Bill Strange -

A group of 21 states is suing the federal government for the recent FCC decision to end net neutrality. Attorneys general from states including California and New York, as well as the District of Columbia, filed a petition to challenge the action by the Federal Communications Commission.  The suit calls the action to do away with net neutrality rules "arbitrary, capricious and an abuse of discretion" that violated federal laws and regulations.  The suit was filed the same day Senate Democrats announced they need just one more vote to repeal the decision.

Even if the Senate passed a repeal, it would still have to get through the Republican-controlled House and face a likely veto by President Trump.
