Luke Bryan Moved To Tears In New 'American Idol' Sneak Peek

It looks like American Idol's upcoming 19th season was an emotional one for Luke Bryan.

In a brand new preview of the new season, the country star is moved to tears over a contestant's voice during auditions. "This is the first time that just someone singing made me cry," the "Down To One" singer admitted, later adding, "nothing is more exciting than just a raw talent."

The new season marks Idol's return to full production after being affected by the pandemic in 2020. Last season, showrunners were forced to complete the season with at-home performances and judge commentary.

The American Idol sneak-peek was first shared on Tuesday (January 5) on Twitter by fellow judge, Lionel Richie. The clip features footage of all three returning judges including Bryan, Richie, and Katy Perry along with the show host, Ryan Seacret, and a handful of talented singers.

"There is no one who we feel more confident about leading us into a new season of high notes than Luke, Katy, Lionel and the incomparable Ryan Seacrest," ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke previously said in a statement.

"Katy, Lionel and Luke are fun, astute and really know how to spot talent," added executive producer and showrunner Trish Kinane at the time. "Their chemistry is undeniable, and we are delighted that they, along with host Ryan Seacrest, are returning to find the next superstar and take ‘American Idol’ to new heights next season."
