Have you ever heard of a "crackling tailpipe?" Neither has Pat Sajak — and he made that known on Wednesday (November 9) night's episode of Wheel of Fortune.
It was Contestant John's turn to guess a puzzle that stumped everyone else — the category was "things" and four letters were missing from the puzzle that turned out to read "crackling campfire." John hit his buzzer and confidently said "crackling tailpipe." Of course, the audience busted out into laughter, according to The Sun. The 75-year-old Army veteran laid his head down at the podium in defeat after losing by just $354, but the fun had just begun.
Sajak made a bad pun directed at Contestant Brent, who beat John's $18,246 with $18,600 thanks to his outrageous guess. "Well, you hung in there by the skin of your crackling tailpipe," he said.
This isn't the first time Sajak makes headlines this week. Tuesday night's episode featured a shocking revelation from Vanna White. Apparently she doesn't like cold water. "Would you drink cold water?" Pat asked Vanna, to which she replied, "I do." But the host then asked if Vanna would take a cold shower? "No," she replied awkwardly. "Well then. I'm through. So long," Sajak said.
