President Donald Trump was reported to have a 44% approval rating, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday (February 25).
The survey showed that Trump held a steady rating from the previous week as Americans' attitudes toward the president were essentially unchanged following the firing of tens of thousands of federal workers by his newly launched Department of Government Efficiency, as well as his criticism of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky amid his country's defense against Russia's invasion launched in 2022.
An estimated 50% of respondents disapproved of the job Trump was doing, which was 1% less than the previous week, though well within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 3%. Trump's job performance in his first full month has remained higher than any point during his first presidency from 2017 to 2021 and former President Joe Biden's entire four-year term, according to Reuters.
Trump was also reported to have a 52% approval rating after his first month in office, according to the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris survey. The poll showed that 33% of respondents strongly approved Trump's performance, while another 19% said they somewhat approved his first month in office.
An estimated 43% disapproved, the majority of which claimed strong disapproval, while another 5% was undecided. Trump's support varies significantly across party lines with about 9 in 10 Republicans approving and nearly 8 in 10 Democrats disapproving. Independents, however, were nearly split down the middle.
The White House shared an article claiming the poll showed "massive support for President Trump and his agenda."
