Northern Georgia had a mild earthquake last night around 11:45 p.m.. Did you feel it?

Earthquakes are rare in Georgia but do happen. The USGS said the 2.9 magnitude earthquake happened Thursday night in Eton, Georgia. It's a northern town that borders Tennessee. According to reports, some people in Murray County and Bradley County reported feeling their homes shake. Parts of Tennessee felt the quake too.

No damage has been reported and some even said they just thought it was a train going by, until they saw the news report.

The last time people felt an earthquake in Georgia was in August of 2020, when North Carolina experienced a 5.1 magnitude quake.
