Billy Ray Cyrus shared a throwback photo with his daughter, Miley Cyrus, and country legend Dolly Parton as he congratulated Miley on her engagement.
Billy Ray, 64, wrote in a tribute on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon (December 3): “No wonder you turned out so special … You have the greatest Godmother in the world!!! [Dolly Parton] 🌎” Parton, 79, is Miley’s Godmother and seventh cousins, once removed, per Ancestry data revealed last year. Parton reacted in an interview with Access Hollywood at the time, “that’s amazing. Well we’re so close, Miley and I… It doesn’t surprise me. because she does feel like family.” Miley has shared heartfelt tributes to Parton over the years. She dedicated songs on her latest studio record, Something Beautiful, to Parton and to Billy Ray.
“So happy you and MaxxAgazillion found each other!!!! Congratulations! Happy to see you both so happy!!! love Dad ❤️,” Billy Ray added. He shared one photo with Miley and Dolly, and two others of Miley with her new fiancé, Maxx Morando. Miley, 33, has dated Morando, 27, for four years. The couple first sparked engagement rumors when Miley was spotted wearing a stunning ring. She said on Good Morning America that “not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered. And I'm telling you, I was so, so, so surprised.”
